2017 Armenian Cultural Festival

                 St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of the Desert held its 10th annual   Armenian Cultural Festival on the weekend of November 4th and 5th.   More than 2,000  people attended again this year, making the Festival a great success!

                 The Festival Committee was very well organized and we again had two food lines where we were able to serve everyone the many varieties of our delicious Armenian foods, without a wait.

ARMENIAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2016

St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of the Desert held its 9th annual Armenian Cultural Festival on the weekend of November 19th and 20th. This was a wonderful way to start the busy Thanksgiving week. More than 2,000 people attended this year, making the Festival a great success!

Because of the overwhelming response from the community who come to enjoy our food each year, we added a second food line this year.  As a result, we were able to serve everyone the many varieties of our delicious Armenian foods, without a wait.  Many commented on how the second food line improved their  Festival experience this year. Armenian Genocide Martyrs Day

The Armenians of the Desert in Coachella Valley, California marked the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Sunday, April 24, 2016. This year’s highlight was the celebration of the sainthood of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. On Sunday morning, approximately 100 Armenians attended the Holy Divine Liturgy at St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of the Desert.  Father Krikor held a unique ceremony in which he consecrated the Icon of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide (The original of which was unveiled during the Canonization service at Holy  Etchmiadzin). Father Krikor spoke of the role of the Armenian Church throughout the centuries until today, and stressed on the importance of learning and upholding the values taught by the Church.  He encouraged everyone to learn the Armenian history and to sustain the link between the past and the present.
